Retail Technology: Mobile Shopping Takes Aim at Brick-and-Mortar Retailers from DI Reporter

Photo retailers and photographers are looking at mobile payment solutions for their stores, according to an in DI Reporter, by Gary Pageau.

“Don’t think of mobile payment solutions, however, as only a temporary offering. Many businesses, from food carts to event photographers, are using mobile payments to not only make transactions easier but also to improve cash flow. Rather than invoice customers later—or wait for handwritten checks to clear—mobile payment systems let retailers collect right away. This improves cash flow, especially for small bootstrap operations or contractors. For example, if a photo retailer contracts with freelance photographers to shoot a school or sporting event, a mobile payment system can be used on-site to make deposits directly into the retailer’s account.”
